About the Role
We are looking for a Mid-Level React.js Developer to build and maintain modern, high-performance web applications. You will work closely with designers, backend engineers, and product managers to translate user experience requirements into reliable, accessible, and maintainable frontend code. This role is ideal for an engineer who has shipped React applications to production and is ready to take ownership of features end-to-end.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and ship user-facing features using React, modern JavaScript (ES2020+), and TypeScript.
- Translate UI/UX designs and product requirements into clean, reusable, well-tested components.
- Manage application state using established patterns (e.g. Context, Redux Toolkit, Zustand, or React Query) appropriate to the use case.
- Integrate with REST and GraphQL APIs, handling loading, error, and optimistic UI states correctly.
- Write unit and integration tests (Jest, React Testing Library) and contribute to end-to-end test coverage.
- Optimize component rendering, bundle splitting, and perceived performance.
- Participate in code reviews, pairing sessions, and architectural discussions.
- Diagnose and fix bugs across the stack and improve observability of frontend issues.
- Contribute to internal documentation, component libraries, and frontend standards.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional experience building production React applications.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, including async patterns, closures, and module systems.
- Deep understanding of React fundamentals: component lifecycle, hooks (
useState, useEffect, useMemo, useCallback, useRef), and reconciliation. - Hands-on experience with React Router or another client-side routing solution.
- Familiarity with modern build tooling (Vite, Webpack, or similar) and npm/yarn/pnpm workflows.
- Experience consuming APIs and handling real-world concerns like pagination, caching, retries, and error boundaries.
- Practical knowledge of CSS-in-JS, CSS Modules, or component-library theming approaches (e.g., MUI, Tailwind, shadcn/ui).
- Comfort with Git, pull-request workflows, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Solid understanding of web accessibility (WCAG) and responsive design principles.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Next.js or another React-based meta-framework (SSR/SSG/ISR).
- Familiarity with monorepo tooling (Turborepo, Nx) and shared component libraries.
- Knowledge of frontend performance profiling (Chrome DevTools, Lighthouse, Web Vitals).
- Experience with Storybook for component development and documentation.
- Exposure to backend or BFF services (Node.js, tRPC, or similar).
- Contributions to open-source projects or a public portfolio of side projects.
