  • Monitor system availability, performance, connectivity, storage, services, queues, and scheduled tasks
  • Support radiology workstations, diagnostic monitors, peripherals, printers, and scanners
  • Perform preventive maintenance, health checks, and technical inspections
  • Maintain records of assets, configurations, software versions, licences, and warranties
  • Support planned downtime, disaster recovery testing, and business continuity activities

DICOM, HL7 & Connectivity

  • Configure and troubleshoot DICOM communication across modalities, PACS, VNA, RIS, viewers, gateways, and third-party systems
  • Support C-ECHO, C-STORE, C-FIND, C-MOVE, C-GET, MWL, MPPS, Storage Commitment, Query/Retrieve, DICOM routing, and DICOMweb
  • Analyse DICOM headers, association logs, and network traces to resolve transfer, metadata, and routing issues
  • Troubleshoot HL7 v2.x ADT, ORM, ORU, and SIU interfaces (PID, PV1, ORC, OBR, OBX)
  • Resolve demographic, order, accession number, study status, and report synchronisation issues

Modality & Clinical Equipment Support

  • Install, configure, and support CT, MRI, X-ray, ultrasound, mammography, fluoroscopy, nuclear medicine, and other imaging equipment
  • Configure modality worklists, AE titles, IP addresses, ports, DICOM destinations, and routing
  • Troubleshoot image acquisition, transfer, worklist, dose, protocol, and study-completion issues
  • Coordinate with modality vendors on hardware faults, software issues, and replacement parts
  • Support equipment moves, upgrades, decommissioning, acceptance testing, commissioning, and clinical release

PACS, VNA & Viewer Support

  • Support image ingestion, archival, retrieval, routing, prefetching, reconciliation, and storage
  • Troubleshoot missing, delayed, duplicate, incomplete, or incorrectly associated studies
  • Resolve viewer access, performance, display, hanging protocol, prior-study, and worklist issues
  • Support desktop, browser-based, and remote-access viewer deployments
  • Assist with storage expansion, data lifecycle management, multi-site access, and legacy PACS consolidation
  • Support non-radiology imaging such as cardiology, endoscopy, ophthalmology, pathology, dermatology, and orthopaedics

Installation, Implementation & Deployment

  • Review technical requirements, and prepare installation plans, network details, firewall rules, and port specifications
  • Install and configure servers, applications, workstations, modalities, DICOM nodes, and interfaces
  • Perform connectivity, integration, and user acceptance testing, and clinical validation
  • Support go-live, onsite deployment, cutover, and post-go-live stabilisation
  • Provide technical training to support teams and clinical users

Troubleshooting & Incident Management (L2/L3)

  • PACS, VNA, RIS, viewer, and modality outages
  • DICOM connectivity, image-transfer, and HL7 interface failures
  • Worklist, accession, reconciliation, and duplicate-study problems
  • Workstation, monitor, browser, and application issues
  • Network, firewall, DNS, server, storage, database, and virtualisation incidents
  • Performance, capacity, backup, archive, and disaster recovery issues

You will use logs, DICOM and HL7 analysis, network traces, database queries, and monitoring tools to find root causes, apply fixes, and prevent recurring problems.

Preventive Maintenance & Lifecycle Management

  • Review logs, service status, storage, backups, certificates, licences, and alerts
  • Coordinate upgrades, security patches, firmware updates, and hardware replacements
  • Test and document changes in line with change-management procedures
  • Maintain lifecycle plans for modalities, workstations, servers, storage, and applications
  • Support decommissioning, data retention, and secure disposal

Migration, Validation & Documentation

  • Support PACS, VNA, RIS, modality, and workstation migrations
  • Validate metadata, image counts, and study/series/instance integrity, and reconcile migrated data
  • Maintain asset inventories, network diagrams, DICOM node lists, configuration records, test scripts, maintenance logs, SOPs, RCA reports, and troubleshooting guides
