About Sharq

Sharq builds sovereign, specialist AI for enterprises and governments across the GCC and MENA. We post-train and serve models tailored to the region's languages, regulations, and infrastructure, so banks, telecoms, insurers, and public-sector organisations can deploy AI they actually control, on their own terms and inside their own borders.

We're an early-stage team, which means as an intern you'll do real work on real systems, not side projects.

What you'll do

• Help build and test pipelines for data processing, fine-tuning, and evaluation of LLMs, with a focus on Arabic and regional use cases
• Contribute to internal tools, APIs, and demos used with enterprise clients
• Research and benchmark open-source models and frameworks, and share what you find with the team
• Write clean, documented code and learn production engineering practices from the founding team
• Join customer and product discussions to see how AI gets deployed in regulated industries

What we're looking for

• Currently pursuing (or recently completed) a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field
• Strong Python skills and a solid grasp of programming fundamentals
• Familiarity with machine learning or LLMs through coursework, projects, hackathons, or open-source contributions
• Curiosity, initiative, and the ability to learn quickly in a fast-moving environment
• Clear communication and a willingness to ask questions

Nice to have

• Experience with PyTorch, Hugging Face, LangChain, or similar tools
• Exposure to cloud platforms or Docker
• Arabic language skills
• A GitHub profile or portfolio showing things you've built
